Create an account

  • Sign up using your email or Google account.

  • Verify your email using Google or Magic Link authentication.

  • Answer simple questions to help Tally understand your financial goals.

  • Optionally, enter your phone number for support.

  • Once completed, you’ll be directed to your personalized financial dashboard.

Connecting your financial accounts

  • You need to connect your financial accounts to use Tally.

  • If you haven't set up your financial accounts when creating your Tally account, you will need to click on the 'Link Your Accounts' button at the top of the Tally application.

  • Authenticate securely through Plaid and your bank's login system.

  • Once connected, Tally will sync transactions, connect to your banking data, and can return transactions based on your prompts.

  • You can add more accounts when logged into Tally.

Using AI-powered chat

  • Access the chat via the "Ask Tally" button on your dashboard.

  • Ask questions about budgeting, investments, or spending trends.

  • Each session is saved, allowing you to revisit previous conversations.

  • You can continue an old chat or start a new one for a fresh topic.

Manage chat sessions

  • Select a session to revisit recommendations or continue the conversation.

  • Chats are organized on cards, making it easy to revisit previous discussions.

  • No longer need a chat session? Select the session to open, and use the menu (upper right corner) to delete.

Security and privacy

  • We connect your accounts through Plaid which provides two-factor authentication (2FA). Get more detail on Plaid's security page.

  • No data selling: Tally does not sell user data to third parties.
